Throughout the research process of bronze ware, as a representative of the appliances in the prosperous period of the Shang and Zhou Dynasties, the decorative patterns of glutton, Kui dragon and phoenix bird, collectively referred to as fantasy animal ornamentations, are the most popular. By collecting and arrangementing of the fanciful animal patterns in the bronze casting of the Shang and Zhou Dynasties through the pattern rubbings and historical documents, this paper discusses the natural worship and artistic connotation of the fanciful animal ornamentations, which has far-reaching significance for the development of modern casting art design and bronze culture.
