THE EFFECTIVENESS OF A COUNSELING PROGRAM BASED ON EXISTENTIAL THERAPY FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF MORAL INTELLIGENCE AND FORGIVENESS AMONG A SAMPLE OF ORPHANED STUDENTS IN QURAYYAT

Abstract:
Guidance and counseling programs aim to lead and guide students by assisting them to achieve developmental tasks (Yuwono, I. et al, 2017). Therefore, the present study aimed to verify the effectiveness of a counseling program based on existential therapy for the development of both moral intelligence and Forgiveness between samples of orphaned students in the Qurayyat region. The samples consist of (21) students were randomly divided into two equal groups 1) an experimental group (11) students, and 2) a control group (10) students, and two measures were designed: the scale of moral intelligence and the scale of Forgiveness. The results of the study reached the effectiveness of the counseling program based on existential therapy in improving and developing both moral intelligence and tolerance among orphan students. An experimental one month after the end of the program, so was the need to come up with recommendations paying attention to orphans students and prepare guidance programs for them. The study recommended conducting more studies and counseling programs for orphaned students due to their great need for these programs in order to improve their psychological and social skills and Counseling Girl Guides to activate the role of orphan students in the school.
