AN INNOVATIVE DESIGN AND CONTROL OF AUTOMATIC CAR COVERING SYSTEM

Abstract:
This work proposes a method for automatically closing the car cover to a car. Every car user will face the various types of problems after parking. The car is unprotected from the environment. The car is open to receive the dust, dirt from the environment. And also, severe of UV rays fall on the car will lead to change the colour of a car. So, they choose a car cover and they cover it manually. This manual covering process is difficult for a single person to cover. And also, it takes the time more than 10min to complete total covering operation. So, this problem is solved with this design by adopting mechatronics technology in a new car. Initially the design of the car covering system is done by using solid works 2016. The design is also simulated using solid works 2016. The Arduino Uno, L293D DC-Motor driver, is used to control the dc motors, servo motors. The two different ranges of power supply are used. A 9V battery is connected for L293D DC motor driver and 12V 1Ah power supply is connected for servo motors. By using micro-controllers and different types of motors we can perform the closing process automatically. Not only covering, it is also possible to uncover the cover. It's more reliable and efficient process to complete the task. The time for completion of covering and uncovering is also less when compared to manual covering. There are several methods proposed earlier for automatic car covering system. Due to some limitations those designs are not used in real time. This is new design for closing of car cover automatically and it is only suitable or implementable in new cars.
