RussellConscious Crosstalk is a method for connecting, strengthening relationships, and embracing differences while deepening understandings of content and operationalizing antiracist theory. The goal of the Conscious Crosstalk framework is to engage in conversation in ways that dismantle hegemonies by balancing and redistributing power, fostering interdependence, and practicing liberation. In classrooms in particular, Conscious Crosstalk is a method for teachers to engage in the role remediations necessary to build relationships with and between students that foster a sense of belonging, that make the space to co-create critical analyses & liberatory tools, and that manifest freedom.
