Multiple seizures since childhood increased in frequency since last 3 years, not controlled on medication.
Patient Data
The nodular heterotopic grey matter was noted in subependymal region of occipital horn of right lateral ventricle, bilateral temporal horn and adjacent to body of left lateral ventricle. It follows the signal of grey matter on all sequences.
Case Discussion
MRI showing nodular heterotopic grey matter in the subependymal region of right occipital horn, adjacent to body of left lateral ventricle and bilateral temporal horns. Grey matter heterotopia is one of the common causes of epilepsy. It follows the signal of grey matter in all pulse sequence on MR. It can be confused with subependymal nodules of tuberous sclerosis, but subependymal nodule have low signal on T2 owing to calcification (if non calcified, these nodules have higher signal on T2 than grey matter).
