External noise integration and modelling in collaborative aircraft design
Description
The Multidisciplinary Optimization (MDO) is the last frontier of the aircraft design process and this is due to its collaborative trait between several partners involved in it. Any partner will treat a specific discipline autonomously, sharing its data and results with the other partners, in order to reduce working time and costs and to improve designing quality. The noise estimation is one of these disciplines because of the necessity to limit noise emissions of an aircraft (they will influence the local environment near the airport, causing psycho-acoustic damages on people and wildlife). Through the noise estimation, it is possible to act on the aircraft’s components, which cause noise emissions (airframe and engine), in order to research all possible improvements on them. This thesis work will improve the AGILE 4.0 project (European MDO project) from the noise estimation point of view and it has been developed with the DAF group of the University of Naples “Federico II”.
