Austropandalus grayi

Description

Austropandalus grayi (Cunningham, 1871)

Occurs in the southeastern Pacific from northwestern Peru to the Straits of Magellan, as well as in the southern Atlantic from Cabo Frio (Brazil) southwards to Patagonia and Falkland Islands, (Holthuis 1952; Boschi et al. 1981, 1992; Arntz et al. 1999; Thatje & Bacardit 2000c); benthic, 5– 225 m. Although Basher & Costello (2014) consider the species to occur south of the Antarctic Polar Front, all records cited therein are sub-Antarctic. Synonym: Pandalus paucidens Miers, 1881.
