Peprilus snyderi Gilbert & Starks, 1904.

Salema Butterfish. To 44 cm (17.3 in) TL (Jiménez Prado and Béarez 2004). Bahía San Juanico, southern Baja California (Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California) to northern Peru (Chirichigno and Vélez 1998), including Gulf of California (Haedrich and Schneider in Fischer et al. 1995). Pelagic neritic; depth: 0–245 m (804 ft) (Robertson et al. 2017).
