Decapterus macarellus

Description

* Decapterus macarellus (Cuvier, 1833).

Mackerel Scad. To 46 cm (18.1 in) TL (Jiménez Prado and Béarez 2004). Circumglobal; western Pacific Ocean north to Ryukyu Islands (Senou in Nakabo 2002); tip of Baja California, mouth of Gulf of California, Costa Rica to Chile, and offshore islands (Robertson and Allen 2015). Depth: surface to 400 m (1,312 ft) (min.: Smith-Vaniz in Fischer et al. 1995; max.: Mundy 2005).
