Description

GENUS THYMOPIDES BURUKOVSKY & AVERIN, 1977

Remarks: Prior to 2003, the genus Thymopide s contained a single species, Thymopides grobovi, known from relatively deep (525–1220 m) waters in the southern Indian Ocean and Kerguelen Islands and Heard Island near Antarctica (Holthuis, 1991). The second known species of the genus was described from near a North Atlantic hydrothermal vent site (below).
