Saemundssonia (Saemundssonia) sternae (Linnaeus, 1758)
Reports: [1] Touleshkov (1960a); [2] Touleshkov (1961a).
Host: Sterna hirundo L. [1, 2].
Distribution in Bulgaria: Popina (Silistra Region); [1] Burgas [2].
Lice of Saemundssonia identified to the generic level only were reported from Chlidonias leucopterus (Temminck), Gallinago media (Latham), Lymnocryptes minimus (Brünnich), Puffinus yelkouan (Acerbi) and Sterna caspia Pallas * (see Balát, 1958; Touleshkov, 1960a, 1964a, 1964b).
