Description

In the article through the lens of Imagological theories the comparative analyses of town’s text in the creative works of Prague’s school poets is performed. The complicated history of this unique Ukrainian poetical formation gives the possibility to cognize difficult processes of the interethnic and intercultural cooperation. Poets in emigration because of the sociopolitical situation in Ukraine in the ХІХ – ХХ centuries has to face the problem in the dialectical unity – to save its own cultural identity and to be accepted in the world of Other (meanwhile – European West). In the course of investigation the poetical identity is viewed in the context of interpenetration, mutual understanding, and mutual dialogue with Other and as a result – mutual enrichment. In such a case lingual, ethnic and cultural and linguistic identities don’t coincide are not absorbed by the others but complexly interact, being projected in its presence, preserving its originality, individuality, distinctive features. The emphasis is made on the mine::others relations, which demonstrate how isolationism and distancing from the Other is transforming in the relation of tolerance and compromise. We arrive at a conclusion that town’s image that in its turn is integrated image and is characterized by certain duration, is not unchangeable and is converting into the qualitatively new type of relation, when the identity is formed in the dialogical interaction with Other.
