RApid GeNeration And pReservation of infOrmation and Knowledge from big data (big data RAGNAROK)

This project proposal describes solutions for efficient generation and preservation of information and knowledge from data enabling open research, citizen science, and open innovation, especially in the domain of Artificial Intelligence. The project intends to develop a comprehensive domain-agnostic platform for the long-term preservation of research data, related digital objects, and resulting information and knowledge corpora. The core of the platform is a stand-off data annotation system that will be used to systematically preserve information and knowledge arising from the interaction of humans and machines with data. The proposed platform will be built and demonstrated around a wind energy use case and generalized for other domains. The platform will be realized using open source technologies, such as CERN's Invenio (Open Source framework for large-scale digital repositories).
