Description

ShinyApp disCOVIDer19 (https://andreaierardi.shinyapps.io/disCOVIDer19/) offers a full immersion into the COVID-19 outbreak in Italy, collecting data from main italian public sources and presenting it in a great variety of charts. For most topics, data is available in three levels of aggregation: by country, by region and by province. The chief dataset, daily downloaded from Protezione Civile's github repository, contains aggregated data of total cases of infection, total deaths and recoveries, total intensive care COVID-19 patients and total hospitalized. Such time series, spanning from Feb 24th 2020 to today, and in particular the cumulative cases of infection are used for a growth modelling section labelled "Analysis", which features several ways of shaping the growth: the logistic model, the ARIMA model and the SEIR model. Each of them can be applied dynamically to different dates and territories and allows the user to tune parameters, although some preset metrics have been estimated and are suggested to the user.

For a complete guide to the App and the theoretical background of analyses, as well as an historical review of the most recent pandemics, please check the online documentation, available at the dedicated panel in the App.
