P5 version 1.6 release notes

This is a maintenance release with no major new features or changes.

Various minor clarifications and corrections were made to the wording of the Guidelines in response to Sourceforge tickets (e.g. 2946528, 2946056, 2946027, 2946019, 2934450, 2933254, 2916303, 2915438) and discussion on Council and TEI-L mailing lists.

The work of the AFNOR group providing and correcting French translations and examples continued, with a large number of changes made in November.

Other specific changes are listed below in reverse date order:

• 2010-02-11 : restore short documentation for the seg element accidentally deleted in October 2008 (2949815)
• 2010-02-11 : add respons, precision, and certainty to the model.glosslike class, so that they can appear within other meta-markup elements such as gap or space; change the content model of space to permit members of model.glossLike (2862151)
• 2010-02-10 : locally define ident on valItem in order to broaden its datatype to rng:text; also locally define mode and remove valItem from att.identified class (2925031)
• 2010-02-10 : restore xml:space to att.global class for consistency with other xml: attributes; add new subsection explaining its significance; remove old att.xmlspace class (2940860)
• 2010-02-07 : add schematron rule to prevent ambiguity when both target and element content are provided to identify object of a relatedItem; add discussion of suggested values for its type attribute (2728068)
• 2010-02-01 : make collection repeatable within msIdentifier and add example (2907038)
• 2010-01-25 : revise the name and functionality of the pattern mechanism introduced for the certainty (etc) elements at release 1.3 in response to much discussion on TEI-L and elsewhere; reorganize discussion in Guidelines, adding new att.scoping class, and renaming attribute to match
• 2010-01-15 : add wording to legitimize using editor for any kind of additional responsibility; add role attribute for consistency with author (2798963)
• 2010-01-15 : move meeting from model.biblLike to model.respLike (2881416)
• 2010-01-15 : relax content model of macrospec for consistency (2920176)
• 2009-12-03 : allow text as direct child of egXML
