  • Presently, N. yaldwyni is known only from the vicinity of Scott Island and the Balleny Islands, Ross Sea (see Dawson 1969 for bathymetry). Neolithodes capensis has been reported from South Africa, the subantarctic (Banzare Bank, Kerguelen Islands), and Antarctica (Bellingshausen Sea) (Macpherson 2004; Garcia Raso et al. 2005). In view of the strong similarities between N. yaldwyni and N. capensis, the Antarctic and subantarctic records of N. capensis require verification.
