Foreword: This book contains the proceedings of the 11th International Conference on Model-Based Software and Systems Engineering (MODELSWARD 2023), held in Lisbon, Portugal from 19 - 21 February, 2023. This conference is sponsored by the Institute for Systems and Technologies of Information, Control and Communication (INSTICC), and is organized in cooperation with the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers (IEICE), ITHEA® International Scientific Society, and the Institute of Engineering and Management. MODELSWARD provides a platform for participants from all over the world to present research results and application experience in using model-based techniques for developing all sorts of systems. This edition received 41 paper submissions from 21 countries, of which 20% were accepted as full papers. This reflects the organizers’ commitment to ensuring a high-quality scientific event. A double-blind paper review was performed for each submission by a Program Committee team of established researchers and domain experts. To acknowledge the best submissions, awards were conferred during the closing session of the conference. These were selected based on a combination of the submission review results, as assessed by the Program Committee, and the quality of the presentation, as assessed by session chairs. All papers presented at this conference will be available at the SCITEPRESS Digital Library shortly following the event. A short selection of papers presented at the conference are selected to be extended and revised for subsequent publication in the CCIS Series book to be published by Springer, and in the Springer Nature Computer Science Journal. The conference program included three keynote lectures given by internationally distinguished speakers, namely: Sanford Friedenthal (SAF Consulting, LLC, United States), Vadim Zaytsev (University of Twente, Netherlands), and Henderik A. Proper (Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology, and TU Wien, Austria). We would like to express our gratitude to all the people who contributed to MODELSWARD 2023. First of all, to the authors, whose excellent work was essential for this conference; and second, to all members of the Program Committee and auxiliary reviewers, who volunteered their valuable time and expertise to help us assemble the conference technical program. We also thank the invited speakers for their outstanding contributions, by sharing their knowledge and vision. Last but not least, special thanks go to all the members of the INSTICC team whose hard work was fundamental to the success of the conference.
