Being one of the first European countries involved in the contagions, Italy has been the first western nation to experiment a lockdown since the end of February 2020. The aim of this chapter is to highlight the way in which two years of pandemic impacted on the everyday life, the social mobility chances, and the perceptions of the future of the generation of 18- to 30-year-old Italian youth. In the light of a general analysis, the chapter zooms from a wider overview of the consequences of the pandemic in the social stratification of youth in Italy to a more in-depth qualitative analysis of their lived experiences during the first, and more radical, lockdown of 2020.
