ABSTRACT

Hungary is still one of the most important nearshore business service locations in the CEE market with a high FDI growth rate, educated and committed labour, attractive economic environment, legal certainty, data security, and a mature service market of ca. 150 business services centres and 67,000 employees. In the last two decades, Budapest attracted the bulk of investment in the Hungarian business service sector. Due to the ensuing general labour shortage, the business services centres began to open new sites in smaller regional cities as well, which means potential for further progress in the Hungarian BPO characterised by10% annual growth on the average. The Hungarian government and most of the business services centres are committed to attracting more complex and higher value-added service processes and to replacing transactional tasks with new digital solutions.
