ABSTRACT
To ensure legal clarity and prevent arbitrary interpretations of the law by fact finders, a clear and explicit statutory legal arrangement should be developed. This chapter seeks to translate the insights of the critical legal discourse presented in this book on the issue of femicide into a statutory amendment of the relevant U.S. criminal doctrines. The proposed amendments are introduced as part of the legal framework of the American Model Penal Code because of its enormous influence and leading role in shaping state criminal codes in the United States. As the majority of these codes follow the MPC, the proposed amendments are applicable, mutatis mutandis, to most U.S. states.
