Abstract

Transient cortical blindness (TCB), as a rare complication of coronary catheterization, is an important issue for study, which has been ignored by cardiologists and ophthalmologists. Although the exact mechanism of this complication is still controversial, it seems that breaking the blood brain barrier (BBB) due to the direct effect of neurotoxicity of contrast agent on BBB is the most likely reason for it. Reassuring the patient is extremely important despite is devastating nature.Because surely they returns to normal vision.
