A Vibration Monitor System Design for Bridge Model

Article Preview

Abstract:

Structural monitoring systems using MEMS sensor and labview software have the potential to serve as low-cost alternatives to commercially available cable-based monitoring systems. This paper describes a sensing prototype system specifically designed for bridge monitoring applications. To validate the performance of the prototype system, a micro heat convective accelerometer is installed on the model bridge. A labview program is designed for converting, storing and processing the bridge vibration signal which acquired from the data acquire card. Prior to the validation experiment, a calibration test is carried out and the sensitivity is measured to be 650mV/g. The acceleration response of the bridge is recorded by the designed monitoring systems.
