Regional Evaluation of the Transportation Infrastructure Construction Level in China

Article Preview

Abstract:

In order to evaluate the level of transportation infrastructure construction of 31 regions in China, 14 indicators are selected. Four factors are summarized to evaluate the construction level of transportation infrastructure using factor analysis, namely construction investment factor, traffic consumption factor, the per capita road factor and vehicle facilities factor, then the level of transportation infrastructure of 31 regions is evaluated based on these four factors’ variance contribution; cluster analysis using Ward 's Method is performed in order to assist the analysis, and the result is consistent with that of factor analysis. It is showed that, the construction level of transportation infrastructure in different regions is not balanced and the main reason is insufficient input in the construction. This paper proposes suggestions for analysis results.
