Abstract

This study has objectified to adapt the evaluation model of Quality of Work Life (QWL) purposed by Walton for a simpler language. The development of the study involved three stages: 1st) questions organization and the adaptation was carried out, where the criteria and sub-criteria were transcribed in an interrogative form, and for the answers scales development a Likert scale with five alternatives was used; 2nd) it was applied the adapted instrument in 99 individuals, and 3rd) it was carried out the analysis of the consistency coefficients found by the criteria and for the instrument as a whole. The results obtained through the verification of the internal consistency of the instrument by the Cronbach’s Alpha showed the value of 0,96. Such result guarantees to the adapted instrument a very high consistency. It is concluded that the proposed adaptation of the Walton’ QWL model allows, through clearer questions and an objective answer scale, its application in low scholar level people, guaranteeing the attainment of trustworthy results without modifying criteria and objectives of the original instrument.
