Three Interviews with Paul K. Feyerabend

Abstract

Question: Could you begin with saying something about your intellectual development?

Feyerabend: Well, it certainly was not like that of David Hume, who planned his intellectual development far in advance. Mine was a series of accidents. I got interested in the arts, in acting especially, in singing, because I heard some excellent people perform and I had a very good teacher. I got interested in physics because we had an excellent physics teacher at high school. I got interested in philosophy because some philosophy books got mixed up with a package of second-hand theater books I bought. So I started reading them to cut my losses.
