La Biblioteca digitale del Museo Galileo e il progetto GLAM

Abstract

Museo Galileo considers the use of modern communication technologies for research and dissemination of scientific culture to be essential. The GLAM/Museo Galileo project was created with this ideal in mind and represents the most mature expression of collaboration with Wikimedia started back in 2009. Since 2016, thanks to the contribution of a “Wikipedian in Residence”, Museo Galileo has been able to autonomously continue the project. The Institution has adopted the “Wiki Philosophy” and plans to continue in the pursuit of “proposing culture”, especially with its contributions made by its own Digital Library, which often produces “Wiki” resources that enrich its thematic collections and by its Library which improves the entries in both Wikipedia and Wikidata.
