Abstract

Abstract: Metabolic syndromes such as hyperglycemia and hyperuricemia are one of the conditions that need to be prevented in order to reduce the risk of degenerative diseases, such as kidney failure, diabetes mellitus, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease, which can even cause death. However, in early health detection, because there are no symptoms felt by the community, it is necessary to empower the community by providing health checks through laboratory examinations of glucose and uric acid levels in the blood. The purpose of the service is to empower the community to screen for hyperglycemia and hyperuricemia. The method of service is to conduct blood tests for parameters of glucose and uric acid levels in the blood of community partners in the Cikalanggirang RT 05 and RW 04 Tasikmalaya city of as many as 50 people. The evaluation is carried out by calculating the enthusiastic number of people invited to check their health through blood tests at the time of community service. The results of the service are that as many as 32 residents out of 50 invitations have taken blood tests with glucose and uric acid parameters. Service activities have succeeded in empowering the community to screen for hyperglycemia and hyperuricemia. The community was detected early, who experienced hyperglycemia as much as 21.9% and hyperuricemia as much as 15.6%.
