To verify the validity of a numerical method to predict multi-phase dispersed flows of which the density varies with fluid temperature and solute concentration, solute concentration and velocity distributions of a salt water flow were measured using an imaging technique. The aspect ratio and rising velocity of a single drop in a density stratified salt water were also measured. Calculated results of these flows agreed well with the measured results.
