Abstract

This paper compares six sigma and data mining methods regarding the zero defect management of production processes. Based on these results, a six sigma 4.0 model is derived by synergistically combining the strengths of both approaches. This guideline provides a comprehensive toolbox in the industry 4.0 production world. The presented six sigma 4.0 model is validated within a continuous improvement project in the field of electronics production.
