Abstract

The paper has investigated sorption of Cr(VI) from aqueous solutions by calcined forms of Zn/Al- and Mg/Fe-hydrotalcites. We have determined the impact of sulfate-, hydrocarbonate- and nitrate-ions on the degree of removal of Cr(VI) from aqueous solutions. The most effective removal of chromate-ions from aqueous solution by calcined forms of hydrotalcites is observed in an acid and weakly acid region of the pH: at an increase of the pH from 4 to 8 the adsorption values decrease by ∼ 6–7%.
