Abstract

The applicability of hydroxyapatite powder for the D-gun spraying of medical instruments made of titanium alloys is investigated. Previously determined parameters of spraying are refined in order to attain good adhesion binding of the coating with the substrate. The multizone character of sprayed microstructures is shown by the results of optical and electron scanning microscopy with energy dispersive microanalysis. It is established that hydroxyapatite is not subjected to substantial variations after spraying, which is important for medical applications.
