The article deals with the analysis of the position of women in occupied Serbia during 1941. The changes that occurred in the lives of women at the beginning of the war and during the occupation as reflected in their daily lives and political, social, and economic role and importance in society, are discussed. Special attention is focused on the assumptions about and policies towards women led by the occupation and collaborationist authorities, as well as the Ravna Gora and national liberation movements. The results of the attempts of the warring forces to attract women and gain their support were already visible during 1941, and the attitude towards women these forces formed in the first year of the war continued to exist in a similar form until the end of the occupation and the war.
