New Tasmanian spiders of the families Archaeidae, Cycloctenidae, Amaurobidae and Micropholcommatidae

posted on 2023-11-02, 05:47 authored by VV HickmanOf the seven new species described one, Zearchaea globosa, belongs to the family Archaeidae and one, Otira affinis, to the family Arnaurobiidae. Both are placed in genera hitherto recorded from New Zealand. Four are placed in the family Cycloctenidae not previously recorded from Tasmania. They belong to the genus Cycloctenus recorded from New Zealand, New South Wales and Lord Howe Island. A key to the genus is given. A new species in the family Micropholcommatidae is added to the four already known to occur in Tasmania.
