Abstract

A new species of Hemisus is described from the Barotse floodplain, Zambia. The advertisement call of this species differs in pulse structure from all other known species of Hemisus. This cryptic species is similar to Hemisus guineensis and Hemisus marmoratus but can be separated from these by differences in body proportions.
