Measurements were made of the migration areas of fission neutrons in lattices of .600" diameter uranium rods in ordinary water. A range of water-to-uranium volume ratios from 1:1 to 4:1 was explored. Values were obtained in two different but related ways; the methods, analysis, and results are given and discussed. It is shown that the results are more consistent with a continuous slowing-down critical equation than they are with a one-group critical equation.
