Multiphonon relaxation and excitation transfer in rare-earth doped glasses
- Lawrence Livermore National Lab. (LLNL), Livermore, CA (United States)
Ion of the rare-earth elements retain their discrete electronic energy levels when incorporated into crystalline or glassy host materials. Nonradiative relaxation of excited states of rare-earth ion in glasses and the transfer of excitation between these ions have been investigated in this work.
