Manpower Assessment Brief No. 34: Transition from school to work: Experiences of 1980 high school sophomores through 1992
Survey data show that most students who dropped or stopped out did recover from disruptions in their education and return to school to complete a degree. However, the earlier the disruption, the lower the probability of completing a college degree. Overall, 84% of the 3.7 million 1980 sophomores were employed in 1992. Clearly, the decisions young people make early in their lives have a major impact on their success in the job market and eventual educational attainment.
