THE ROLE OF INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS IN DEVELOPING THE PRODUCTION OF LIVING AQUATIC RESOURCES IN EGYPT

Abstract

In this study, the researcher tried to shed light on the extent of Egypt’s implementation of some international agreements concluded by some of the international organizations that have a role in the development of living aquatic resources, through laws and legislations related to the protection and development of living aquatic resources, in order for Egypt to benefit from those agreements and among the most important agreements Which the researcher dealt with is the United Nations Convention on the International Law of the Sea 1982 and the minimum age conventions for workers on board fishing vessels. The research found that Egypt had not benefited from international law of the sea for 1982 for 38 years from the date of issuance No. 124 of 1983 on fishing and aquaculture and the regulation of fish farms, in terms of division Maritime zones for Egypt to exploit certain areas such as the adjacent zone and the exclusive economic zone And the high seas, and the study found that fisheries production from the seas was ranked third From various fisheries production sources in Egypt. The research recommends the need to update Egyptian laws and regulations in accordance with the international agreements signed by Egypt, and also recommends the reconstruction of a fleet Marine fishing so that it can operate in the exclusive economic zone and on the high seas.
