Abstract

Since the 1970s, the output of the Barbadian manufacturing industry has been on a steady downward trajectory. This paper utilises a database of 308 small and medium manufacturing firms to identify the factors that impact on the performance of manufacturing firms in island economies. An integrated model of firm performance including economic, organisational and innovation factors is developed and estimated using a pooled ordinary least square model.
