Abstract:
The experimental work in laboratories has always supposed a high profile at all levels of science education. The original reasons for its importance lay in the need to produce skilled technicians and teachers for research laboratories and classes. One of the useful skills that can be used in educational field is diagnosis skills of science laboratory equipments.

This study presents the results of the pedagogical research to examine the effects of using a new educational software on learning laboratory lessons compared to the traditional method of teaching. The software was designed in an intuitive and accessible way so that students can see each relevant part of equipments and realize the differences, similarities and usage of them in various experiments. For this purpose, chemistry and primary education student teachers participated in the study. Influence of the educational software on students’ learning was examined by the questionnaire. After responding to the questions, the students’ answers were analyzed. The results showed that the software provides an inimitable and engaging approach to learning function of laboratory equipments, and increases the efficiency of students’ learning in laboratory, as well as research ability.
