Abstract:
The dynamics of social processes, increased need for new knowledge, the need for lifelong learning, tremendously increase competition in almost all spheres of human activity. This need affects on education and university education in particular.

Modern qualitative change and new modern vision of higher education in the knowledge economy is based primarily on innovations in education. Training, which consists of two directions-theoretical and practical and is fully based on the educational paradigm "Learning by Doing".

The University of Library Studies and Information Technologies is one of the most modern educational institutions in Bulgaria, which successfully intertwines traditional training methods with innovative approaches to stimulate scientific interests and activities of students, young scientists and PhD students in various fields of science.

Based on the principle "Learning by Doing", ULSIT integrates international projects in the learning process of students, young scientists and PhD students in order to create an integrated system for the implementation and promotion of scientific activities and researches in the various fields and areas of science that are united by the diffusion of knowledge, methods and learning between scientists and specialists on the one hand and young people in science on the other.

Fruitful cooperation between ULSIT and the Regional Centre for Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Southeastern Europe under the auspices of UNESCO, based in Sofia is among the best examples of the integration of international projects in the learning process of young people. Two travelling university seminars on "Sharing knowledge on the intangible cultural heritage of Southeastern Europe" were conducted in 2016.One of them in the city Edirne, Republic of Turkey and the other in the city of Nis, Republic of Serbia. They were organized jointly by ULSIT and the Regional Centre. These seminars, part of the Work Plan of the Regional Centre for 2016, were attended by senior scholars, professionals, students, PhD students and young scientists, representatives of ULSIT, Nis University and Trakya University in Edirne. The organization of these international scientific events provided an opportunity for the exchange of knowledge and experience between participants interested in that particular issue and gave platform for students to present their researches, interests and views on the issues involved.

By organizing round tables, seminars, conferences and discussions under the international projects involving participants from different countries, the communication and exchange of information, knowledge, experience and good ideas among young people in science, senior professionals from various fields of science and others is fostered. Thus the level of education is increasing and this helps the achievement of higher quality of researches and innovations in training.

The implementation of international projects and the inclusion of learners as active participants in them appears to be another, useful and innovative teaching method that ULSIT applies for integrating young people to the scientific and academic community.By conducting various international forums, seminars, conferences and other scientific events, learners at ULSIT are provided with an opportunity to present their research interests to the wider audience and develop their scientific potential
