Abstract:
Application of DRIS (Diagnosis and Recommendation Integrated System) was compared with DOP (Deviation of Optimum Percentage) for foliar mineral analysis in peach (Prunus persica L. Batsch) trees.
For this purpose, a database of analytical values from a peach growing area was used, the DOP and the DRIS indexes were calculated, and the optimum nutrient contents established in the growing area for N, P, K, Ca, and Mg were applied as reference values for both the DRIS and the DOP calculations.
The ranking of nutrients indicated by both indexes (DOP and DRIS) was found to be the same for the area of study including its 14 localities.
The interpretative possibilities of the DOP and DRIS approaches were compared, and the DOP index appeared to give a better interpretation.
Finally, the diagnosis of the nutritional status of peach orchards by the DOP interpretative chart is discussed.
