Description

In this paper, an experimental test database is presented for flexural FRP-strengthened RC beams including four possible failure modes: concrete crushing, FRP rupture, IC debonding and end debonding. The experimental RC beams are characterized with the following features: (1) the cross-section is rectangular; (2) FRP laminates are pasted in the tension side of RC beams; (3) two types of FRP composites are used, CFRP and GFRP; and (4) three-point and four-point loading are included for the simply-supported RC beams with static loads. This database is constructed based on 624 sets of test results collected from published references during a long time span from 1993 to 2018. Including 226 sets for flexural failure (concrete crushing and FRP rupture), 240 sets for IC debonding and 158 set for end debonding. The number of test data with anchorages for flexural failure, IC debonding and end debonding is 116, 63, and 3, respectively. The database include the following basic parameters: (1) geometry of RC beam (i.e., height, width, length); (2) concrete compression strength; (3) properties of steel (i.e., yielding strength, Yang’s modulus and cross-section area); (4) properties of FRP (i.e., ultimate strength, Yang’s modulus, thickness and cross-section area); (5)loading condition (i.e., three-points or four-points); (6) anchorage type; and (7) experimental results (i.e., ultimate load capacity, failure mode, and FRP contribution).
