Description: The present scoping review aims to investigate the impact of virtual reality on active aging in older adults. Objective: To map and characterize scientific literature and identify knowledge gaps regarding virtual reality targeted at older individuals in healthcare services. The scoping review will be conducted following the methodology of the Joanna Briggs Institute for scoping reviews and the PRISMA Extension for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-ScR). The search strategy will be applied in PubMed, Scopus, Cumulative Index of Nursing and Allied Literature Complete (CINAHL), and Web of Science Core Collection.
