A 35-year-old woman with a two-year history of asymptomatic scaly erythema in the periungual area and subungual hyperpigmentation of several nails was referred to the dermatology department. She had a six-year history of pemphigus vulgaris and was treated with prednisolone, initially 50 mg/d, tapered to 20 mg/d methylprednisolone (figure 1A).
