The compounds [(C₆H₅)₄P]PrX₄· 8 H₂O (X = Cl, Br), [(C₆H₅)₄P]LaBr₄· 8 H₂O and [(C₆H₅)₄As]MCl₄· 8 H₂O (M = La, Ce, Pr, Sm. Eu, Gd) were prepared and investigated by X-ray diffraction. The compounds were found to be isotypic with [(C₆H₅)₄As]NdCl₄· 8 H₂O, which was structurally characterized already previously. The magnetic behaviour of [(C₆H₅)₄P]PrX₄· 8 H₂O (X = Cl, Br) has been studied.
