Das Hochschulbibliothekszentrum (HBZ) wurde als Verbundzentrale des nordrhein-westfälischen Bibliotheksverbundes 1973 im Zuge der Gründung der fünf Gesamthochschulen in Duisburg, Essen, Paderborn, Siegen und Wuppertal gegründet. Der Aufsatz beschreibt die Stationen der Verbundarbeit ausgehend von der Unterstützung der kooperativen Erschließung und des zentralen Bestandsnachweises bis hin zu Perspektiven im Bereich weitergehender Dienstleistungsangebote: automatisierte Fernleihverfahren, Dokumentlieferdienste, Digitale Bibliothek NRW und lokale Bibliothekssysteme. Es werden die vielfältigen Facetten der Bibliothekskooperation aus Verbundsicht dargestellt, die eine Ausweitung der Dienstleistungen auf bestandsunabhängige Anwendungen sowie auf Öffentliche Bibliotheken mit sich bringen.
The Hochschulbibliothekszentrum (HBZ) has been founded 1973 alongside the foundation of five Universities in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia as an online bibliographic utility to support ressource sharing regarding cooperative cataloguing and union catalogue facilities. Milestones in the development of the institution are described. The impact of new innovative services is discussed: automated interlibrary loan systems, document delivery services, Digital Library Projects, and providing applications for local library systems among others. Library cooperation is extended towards public libraries as forthcoming participants.
Le Hochschulbibliothekszentrum (HBZ) fût fondé en 1973 en tant que centre de gestion de l'Association coopérative des bibliothèques de Rhénanie du Nord-Westphalie dans le contexte de la fondation des cinq nouvelles universités (Gesamthochschulen) à Duisburg, Essen, Paderborn, Siegen et Wuppertal. L'article décrit les stations du travail coopératif du soutien de la documentation coopérative et du catalogue collectif jusqu'aux perspectives dans le domaine d'offre de services étendus: Procédés de prèt interbibliothèque automatisés, services d'approvisionnement de documents, Bibliothèque Digitale NRW (Rhénanie du Nord-Westphalie) et systèmes locaux de bibliothèques. D'une vue coopérative sont présentées les facettes multiples de l'association des bibliothèques qui comportent un élargissement des services à d'autres applications spécifiques et aux bibliothèques municipales.
