Abstract

Lanthanum orthovanadate has the monazite type monoclinic form structure. lts melting point is above 1800°C. In this study, we synthesized monazite type LaVO4 by precipitation from aqueous solution of La3+ and V5+ at room temperature in the pH 9 for 1day. Precipitates are examined by XRD, B.E.T.. And after forming by uniaxial press and CIP, we obtained sintered compact by firing specimens at 1000°C to 1300°C for 1, 3, 5 hours in air. We evaluated several proprieties of the sintered LaVO4 and reactivity in with Al2O3, TiO2, ZrO2 in high temperature.
