Optimized Brillouin Frequency Distributions for SBS Suppression in Active Fibers

Abstract

Optimized distributions of the local Brillouin frequency to increase the SBS threshold in active fibers are derived analytically. Theoretical results on SBS suppression in fiber amplifiers for arbitrary gain distributions are shown.
