ABSTRACT

This chapter investigates the potential development of organizational concepts for the bioeconomy, with a focus on agriculture. The chapter builds on the literature on socio-ecological systems and explores, in particular, the concept of the socio-ecological technological value-enhancing web system (SETVEWS). The need for broader approaches that are able to endogenize a wider set of variables and allow more comprehensive understanding and support in decision-making, in both the private and public domains is highlighted.
